How to Use The Torah Timeline

Welcome to The Torah Timeline, your gateway to exploring the rich tapestry of Jewish history in an innovative 3D format. This guide will help you navigate the timeline effectively and make the most of your experience.

Key Points:

  1. Categories Control: The Timeline offers a variety of categories that can be turned on and off to customize your exploration. These categories can be found on the bottom bar of the interface.

  2. Zoom for Clarity: To get a closer look at specific events or to gain a broader overview, utilize the zoom feature. You can find the zoom controls in the bottom right corner under the "Settings" tab.

  3. Time Travel: Move both backward and forward in time to explore different historical eras and events. This feature allows for a comprehensive understanding of the timeline.

Timeline Sections:

In this prototype version, we've divided the timeline into three distinct sections to manage the clutter effectively. In the final version, all information will seamlessly integrate into one platform.

  • Chumash: This section focuses on the weekly Parshiot (Torah portions). You'll find relevant dates for each Parsha, allowing you to explore the historical context surrounding the biblical texts.

  • Tanach: Dive into the 24 books of Tanach, explore the lives of the prophets and kings, and uncover key events that shaped our history.

  • Post-Tanach: This section spans from the Second Temple era to the Mishna, Gemara, and modern times. It provides a comprehensive view of our history, including significant figures and events.

In This Version:

In this prototype version, we currently display only the Hebrew year, with BC notation used before the era of Adam and Eve. In this prototype version, the months are displayed in the secular format, such as January and February, rather than the Jewish calendar months like Nissan and Iyar. Please note that in the final version, all this additional information will be seamlessly integrated.

Future Enhancements:

In the final version of The Torah Timeline, we're excited to bring you an even more immersive experience:

  • Advanced Zoom: Our zoom capabilities will resemble those of Google Maps, allowing for an in-depth exploration without the clutter.

  • Rich Media: Relevant Pesukim (verses), stories, and multimedia content will be at your fingertips, providing a deeper understanding of each historical moment.

  • Outstanding Graphics: Our commitment to outstanding graphics ensures that your journey through history will be visually stunning.
